On The Top Of The World

Here's our story.........Brian and I first met back on September 21st, 2002 at a local wrestling show in Elizabeth, NJ. He is a professional wrestler and I am a wrestling manager. To this day we travel and work wrestling shows together up and down the east coast. We're known as "Wrestling's Hottest Couple". I always knew of him from his wrestling name but that was the first time I actually met him and worked on the same show as him. Instantly we hit it off and I felt like I knew him for years. However, he is several years older than me, lives in Maryland and had a girlfriend at the time. My best friend Jamie actually talked me out of dating him, telling me it's too complicated and not to bother getting involved. At first I listened to her and only saw him about once a month on wrestling shows in the NJ area and we kept it as friends; talking on the phone and emailing each other. But I couldn't get him off my mind, he was seriously becoming my best friend who I can talk to about anything and everything. I really enjoyed our conversations and always felt totally at ease with him. Once he broke up with his then girlfriend, I knew good things were going to happen for us. Then on January 15th, 2003 he made a special 3 and 1/2 hour drive to NY to see me, take me out to dinner and see the play 42nd Street in Manhattan. We consider that day our first date and our anniversary. After I graduated college from St. Johns University in May of 2004, I moved to Maryland, after saying I would never leave NY. Thankfully, we plan on moving back to NY in December. So we moved in together in June of 2004 and on November 20th, 2005 we got engaged. I custom designed the engagement ring since I used to work for a jewelry store and I knew exactly what I wanted. I had a feeling it was coming since he asked for my Dad's blessing and showed my entire family the engagement ring. However, he totally caught me off guard when he took me to Sugarloaf Mountain in Maryland and on top of the mountain he asked me to be his wife! As we were climbing up the mountain, which is 1300 feet up, he's going on and on about climbing this mountain is like a journey and started comparing it to our relationship saying there are hardships and difficulties but you also have joy and happiness. And he goes on to say once you reach the top of the mountain its all worth it when you look down and see what you accomplished. I am not catching on to anything he's saying since I'm trying not to break my ankle hiking up this mountain. Looking back, that was the perfect proposal because he is very into nature, hiking and the outdoors. So the proposal definitely fits him well. We are getting married on May 25, 2007 in Manhattan. I hope you enjoyed my story and that I didn't ramble too much. I just love talking about it. Thank you very much!
