Darryl and I had grown up together. Our family's were the best of friends and though we always were attracted to each other we never let anything come of it.

Not only that, but there is a 2 year age difference. Which is nothing now, but years ago when he was in high school and I was still in middle school, he found it amusing to even consider being with me. A few months ago, after not hearing from him in about 14 years he calls my cell phone out of the blue.

He had gotten the number from my mother who was visiting new york on Vacation. I live in London now and was not interested in an old flame who practically laughed me out of his life. Anyway, he says he was sitting around thinking about the women from his past which had the strongest effect on him and that he felt he had the strongest bond with (his soul-mate) and it was me. Little to say I thought it was a line - a good one - but yet still a line. We were thousands of miles apart (he in New York, me in London), so my challenge to him was to pursue me and court me as though I were around the corner from him. If he could steal my heart from long distance, than he would prove himself deserving of me. Well, little to say he did!!! I even got him to fly to the UK to meet me; which was a miracle in itself because he had swore he would walk thousands of miles before he would be caught dead in an airplane.

Flushed, pale and sweating he got off the plane and Greeted me like I was a Queen. Looking back, I would have never in a million years guessed we would be together, and I'm sure he would not have either. But I still enjoying throwing in his face...."who's laughing now"!!
