The Jewels That Raq! are a group of the most exceptional and elegant belly dance artists in Southern California. This group was founded by Director Meliza Jackson, to create quality shows and presentations for those who were seeking a cut about the rest.

Meliza began training in multiple forms of dance at the early age of five, and she has been on stage ever since. Her love affair with belly dance began five years ago when she began to learn the treasures of this art form. Through her performances, she discovered how this particular dance art lets the dancer connect with the audience. She fell in love with not only the beauty of the dance, but with its power. She soon decided that she had to do everything possible to share it with the world.

Beyond her own private and public performances, she has invited some of the most spectacular belly dancers from the Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino and Orange County area to join her on stage at many of the most popular clubs, restaurants and exquisite private parties, to help her represent belly dance at its best!

As the Director of "The Jewels That Raq!", she makes the greatest effort to offer her clients and venues the most polished, poised, and professional performers available today. Meliza goes above and beyond to make her clients happy and offers the best customer service -- never forgetting that everyone should be treated with respect, kindness and care.

Too often clients, coordinators, and companies find themselves not knowing what to look for in a belly dancer or her performance, and feel the pressure of making the wrong decision. Meliza helps her clients feel as educated and comfortable as possible.

The most common mistake is choosing the performer based solely on price, and forgetting that all belly dancers are NOT created equal. In most of these situations, where price is the deciding factor, the unfortunate lesson of, "You get what you pay for", is harshly learned. This is not a good lesson to learn at one of your most special occasions or events -- such at your big wedding day or your elaborate company party,

when and where you have many people to impress. When selecting a performer for your next special event, all things, not only price, need to be taken into consideration, to be sure of the success of your event.

Within The Jewels That Raq!, each performer has years of formal training, exquisitely beautiful costuming, with the utmost attention to details within their presentation: both physically and artistically.

The performers in the group are each named after a precious Jewel which represents their uniqueness, quality and brilliance.
