The Great Northern Ceilidh Band is one of Yorkshire's finest ceilidh bands available for barn dances, weddings, birthdays, corporate events, parties and celebrations of all kinds. Made up of experienced traditional musicians we create a lively, energetic, inherently danceable sound guaranteed to have your guests on the floor.

We play dance music from a variety of traditions, including English, Irish, Scottish and American tunes. We also perform a wide variety of songs ranging from heartfelt Scottish ballads to all out Rock 'n' Roll.

We know through experience that each event is unique and requires a different approach so we will tailor our services to meet your every need and ensure your event is a success. We can provide a 3 to 7 piece band with a caller and our own PA and sound equipment.

The band is fronted by Roy Atkinson, one of Britain's leading callers (with over 40 years of experience), who will keep everyone entertained and going in the right direction.

As well as calling with local bands, Roy has called with many big ceilidh bands including Peeping Tom, Whapweasel, Tickled Pink, Oysterband, Random, The Old Swan Band and Gas Mark 5 to name but a few!

We are available for ceilidhs at any type of event be it a wedding, birthday, anniversary, corporate do or just a good old fashioned knees up of any size, in any venue, almost anywhere!

Our standard 3 piece lineup includes fiddle, guitar and bass plus our caller.

We also work with several other professional musicians and can provide a band as big or as small as you want including accordion, keyboards, flute, drums, etc.
