THE SUPERLATIVES are the UK’s classiest function band, delivering a broad selection of top quality music for a variety of events.

The Band
THE SUPERLATIVES line-up ranges from the deluxe 12 piece band with 5 piece brass section and 3 vocalists to a standard 5 piece band for venues where space is at a premium. The band comprises some of London’s finest session musicians and boasts credits with many of today’s top artists including Amy Winehouse, Katie Melua, George Michael, Van Morrison, Shirley Bassey and Mariah Carey.
All of our musicians are smartly dressed – our men in black suits and ties and our ladies in cocktail dresses. Alternatively we can wear black tie/long evening dresses upon request.
Our Music
THE SUPERLATIVES have an extensive repertoire which can be varied on demand, and play well known hits including soul, disco, pop and rock classics from the 60’s to the present day. A typical set would include the following:
Soul: Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Al Green, Dusty Springfield, Diana Ross.
70’s Disco & 80’s: Stevie Wonder, Sister Sledge, Kool & the Gang, Michael Jackson, Tom Jones, Chaka Kahn
Pop & Rock: Kylie, Scissor Sisters, Amy Winehouse, Rhianna, Beyonce, Queen, Bon Jovi
Rock N Roll: The Beatles, Elvis, Rolling Stones, Jackie Wilson and more….lots more.
THE SUPERLATIVES also specialize in playing Jazz and their exceptional musicianship provides the perfect ambience for your reception or dinner party. The Jazz repertoire consist of hits from Cole Porter, Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and Miles Davis to name but a few.
Wedding Specialists
THE SUPERLATIVES are proud to be one of the UK’s top wedding bands and ensure that all of your guests will have a fantastic party. We can tailor our musical sets to suit the running of your event ranging from dinner jazz to accompany your meal to dance sets to get the party in full swing. We also guarantee to learn and play your chosen first dance, regardless of whether it appears in our repertoire.
