| Surprise Renewal in Hawaii |

A couple from Ohio visits Hawaii almost every year. The husband contacted me via phone to tell me he wanted to plan a surprise renewal of vows for his wife and that he would call me back when he could to start doing the planning. For fear of leaking the surprise, he never wanted me to call him, but soon realized that the internet (e-mail) was perfect for our planning purposes.
After months of planning, the day finally arrived. The husband and wife had arrived at the resort a few days prior and were going on their daily walk on the beach. On this day, however, it would be a walk that the bride would never forget. As she walked along the beach hand in hand with her husband of 25 years, she realized that on the lawn area by an oceanfront banquet room she saw people that she knew! With each step she grew more excited and surprised, overcome with emotion. Little did she know, that was just the beginning! Not only did she see many of her friends waiting for her, out came her son that she had just spoke to on the phone an hour before not knowing that he had flown in from Ohio! With many tears of joy, the best was saved for last. The final "surprise" came when their pastor from Ohio (who had also been flown in) came out from behind the banquet room and performed their vow renewal. Those are the days that you know you're in the perfect job! |
